Young footballers from Colton in Leeds are celebrating a fantastic season of achievement, adventure and promotion, thanks in part to the support of local funeral home WM Dodgson Funeral Directors.
The Colton Under-13s team recently returned from an unforgettable football tour to Salou, Spain, where they competed against local Spanish teams, took part in professional coaching sessions and experienced life behind the scenes at top-flight football club Espanyol. Throughout the trip, the squad proudly wore a bespoke tour kit sponsored by WM Dodgson Funeral Directors, giving them a smart new look for the occasion.
One of the highlights of the tour was a visit to Espanyol’s RCDE Stadium, where players were given an exclusive insight into the professional game and the opportunity to train under the guidance of the club’s coaching staff. The experience provided valuable learning opportunities and created lasting memories for the young players.
The success didn’t stop when they returned home. Building on the confidence and teamwork developed during the trip, Colton Under-13s completed a strong league campaign and secured promotion from Division 8 to Division 7 of the Garforth Football League.
The sponsored kit has become an important part of the team’s identity and, following its popularity with players and supporters alike, will now be used as the club’s official kit for the upcoming season.
