On 6 October 2026, colleagues from Wm Dodgson & Son Funeral Services volunteered their time to raise funds for St Gemma’s Hospice as part of Hospice Care Week.
Team members Sinead, Lee, David and Julie spent the day collecting donations at Leeds Train Station and Marks & Spencer, Moortown, while also raising awareness of the vital care and support provided by St Gemma’s Hospice to patients and families across the local community.
Throughout the day, the team met members of the public, heard personal stories about the hospice’s impact, and experienced first-hand the generosity of the local community. The fundraising effort helped raise awareness of the hospice’s services while contributing valuable funds to support its ongoing work.
The initiative was inspired by the team’s desire to support the incredible work carried out by St Gemma’s and to make a positive contribution during Hospice Care Week. It was a rewarding opportunity for colleagues to come together, engage with the community and support an organisation that is deeply valued across Leeds.
